Millennium Falcon Vol.1:Metallic Paint
Why I built the plastic model of Millennium Falcon of Star Wars
I wanted to present something to my 7-years-old nephew for his birthday. He is a enthusiast of Star Wars, so I had a plan to give him something of that. Firstly, I had been looking for that on the market, but I couldn't find a good item. Then, I have decided that I create a plastic model of Star Wars.
Metric painting
Surfacer
I chose "the Bandai 1/144 Star Wars Millennium Falcon The Force Awakens" as my first kit. First, I undercoated them using "the GSI Creos Mr. primer surfacer 1200". I made some mistakes of painting because this was a first time for me. In addition, there were a lot of uneven coatings due to painting in windy outside the house. I want the painting booth in my house...
Super metallic
After dried undercoat, I was painting the details using "the GSI Creos Super Metallic SM03 Super Iron".
Before/After as below;
This acrylic-coating is really useful. You can make a plastic as a metallic part if you use it.
Inking in the panel lines
Using enamel coating
I was inking in the panel lines using "the Tamiya black enamel coating for inking". This coating was not needed to make it thin with enamel paint thinner. I added the weathering and aging using it too.
Combination
Those parts were combined as below.
Conclusion
The bandai 1/144 Millennium Falcon is really great kit. Even if you are beginner like me, you could build it smoothly and easily.
